Arnold’s Park by Pterodactyl – Out Nov 1

Arnold’s Park – one of two European-only vinyl-only 2010 EPs by Pterodactyl – will be reissued by SOUNGS on November 1st.  All of the songs have been freshly remastered, and an outtake from the same time period (“For Nothing”) is included as a bonus track.  The album will be available for digital download and as a limited-edition cassette (with silk-screened artwork and a high-quality download code) from this site and on the band’s upcoming North American tour.

Arnold’s Park was originally released by Deleted Art in Sweden.  The EP explores the more psychedelic aspects of Pterodactyl’s sound, building expansive songs out of intimate soundscapes, or maybe it’s the other way around.  In many ways, Arnold’s Park is the perfect predecesor to the groups upcoming album Spills Out (out 11/15 on Jagjaguwar) – it also features artwork from Otecki as well as the original version of “Allergy Shots” (which appears in a remixed form on the new album).
